Useful tool to cut foam cleanly for lost foam casting

I am doing some lost foam casting and hand cutting foam with a wire cutter is not as precise as using the cnc wire cutter. Assembly was fairly easy, and the test cut came out well. I have made a few minor modifications to the wire tensioning as it was not staying as taut as I would like. The software is not a difficult learning curve especially if you are familiar with inkscape. This machine is a good value if the work you are doing fits the work envelope. I have not used the z axis as yet and that is a reasonably good feature. My work is primarily to make signs in styrofoam and this has the level of detail at the scale I need. This is a nice alternative to cnc milling foam as it is cleaner and the kerf is almost shiny by comparison to milled foam. It is a good tool at a reasonable price in my opinion. my only disappointment with the tool is the offline controller port does not seem to be supported at this time. I would really like to be able to use an offline controller with the cutter.

Super easy setup and solidly built

This machine was super simple to put together and the instructions kept it super simple. I got it built in under 30 minutes and I was already testing it through the motions. Software is easy but does have a learning curve if you haven’t used it before.

Easy assembly & cuts foam very fast

Mostly pre-assembled, went together in about 45 mins with the hot wire install being the tricky part, but the manual is pretty thorough with lots of clear photos.
It includes sample cut files and a guide on how to use them to get right into your first project.
