Z-clamp for FoxAlien CNC Router Machines | Compatible with DeWalt DWP611 or Makita

I needed a different router clamp for my home built CNC in order to run a dust collection boot. This spindle clamp fit my router perfectly and is a sharp looking addition to my build.

Well designed, but aluminum is too soft for the short screws and they strip the threads requiring replacement of the entire clamp. If the walls were thicker, larger screws could be used and stripping of the threaads would be avoided.

The clamp is well made and installed very easily with no problems. Holds the router securely without moving.

Using the Harbor Freight Bauer router works as it should

I upgraded my spindle to a Makita trim router which has a different diameter than the stock spindle. This Z-clamp works perfectly.

Z-clamp fit perfectly onto the 4040-XE using a Bauer 1 1/3HP router head replacement. Larger clamp did however extend ~2in further in -Y direction requiring Y-axis limit switch stops to be moved to maximum extent limits.
PS: This was part of an upgrade to my 4040 which included waste board re-enforcement with extrusion rails. Experienced EXCESSIVE VIBRATION due to waste board deflection during Aluminum panel cutting. Waste board re-enforcement should be a priority on newer 4040 models.
