The XE-Ultra Core is a compact-sized version CNC machine of the XE-Ultra. Due to its desktop size and comes with the same hardware specification as the XE-Ultra, which makes the XE-Ultra Core is a more rigid CNC. It is built with linear rails and ball screws in all 3 axes, which greatly improves the engraving accuracy.

Great machine, very rigid and precise!

The XE-Ultra Core is an amazing CNC router. I have used machines from other manufacturers before, but I am absolutely thrilled with this one. The linear rails and closed-loop NEMA 23 motors provide excellent stability and accuracy, far better than other CNCs in this class. I have installed a 1.5kW VFD spindle on it, and the machine cuts through hardwoods like a breeze with zero flexing. The active area is perfect for my 3D carving projects and DIY icons. Very well packed and high-quality components. Five stars!

It is a beast!

The XE-Ultra and 1.5K VFD is a powerful machine. It will route anything I trough at her and with flying colors. I am mostly working in wood, but I have tried a little in aluminum and it has no problem with that either. Assembly is a bit of work, but the instructions are good and FaxAlien responded to my inquires through email overnight. The one thing I miss in the instructions is the size for the base. The bear minimum base dimensions that I found to work are 40in wide by 31in deep, and allow 6 in clearance in the back for the stepper motors as they hang out(not including room for the controller). I used a double layer of 3/4 plywood screwed together for extra rigidity.
