How to fix the 4040-XE if the motors loose steps or stuttering

When the machine loses steps during engraving, or the Y motors move unsmoothly, please follow bellowed steps to make the adjustment:

 

  1. Check the belts tension. Make sure the belts are not loose, but yet not too tight.

  1. Check the screw on the synchronous wheels. Make sure the set screw is tightened.

   3. The bottom screws on the Y-axis side frame:

There are 8 screws on the side frame to fix the wheels, please tighten them
